Big I Landscaping Is Big Deal
22 March 2007

Welcome Palm Yucca, Chamisa, Parry's Agave, Prickly Pear and Eastern Redbud to your I-40 :: I-25 freeway commute.

A $10 million dollar plan has been announced to create a feast for the eyes of drivers using the Big I. The design will be scheduled in five phases with completion set for 2008. Large expanses of color will follow summer and winter themes and will be set into over 100 acres in patterns to create a design rhythm for fast-moving vehicles.

Mayor Martin Chavez states that this project is one of the largest projects of its kind in the nation. Design work will be done by Morrow Reardon Wilkinson Miller, Landscape Architects.
