Escribiente Salutes U.S. Military
14 February 2008

Escribiente
Albuquerque's Calligraphic Society, Escribiente, along with generous and creative friends has just produced and mailed 459 Valentines to our soldiers in Iraq. The loving work was spearheaded by Petrita Alcon who enlisted calligraphers and people from many walks of life to make unique messages of thanks, concern, appreciation, and genuine caring for our troops--all tucked inside a beautiful card.

Those attending "Cyrano de Bergerac" at Albuquerque's Little Theater will be able to enjoy not only the play, but also the calligraphy of Escribiente's members at the intermission show located upstairs. Caryl McHarney of Escribiente invites you to the performances and to view the art work beginning on January 25, 2008.

This guild will be celebrating its thirtieth birthday on April 26, 2008. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 6 at 6:30 pm in the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center located at 501 Elizabeth SE ( Southern and Elizabeth SE). If you are interested in beautiful writing and the book arts, you are invited to attend this free event.
