Newborn Chimp Debuts at Adventure Africa Exhibit
24 March 2007

Chimpanzee Elaine and Father Alf presented the Rio Grande Zoo in Albuquerque, NM with a beautiful baby girl on February 5, 2007.

This addition brings the total chimp number at the Adventure Africa Exhibit to 11. This is the first chimp newborn since the exhibit opened in 2004. The mother is 30 years old, and Dad Alf is 19. Albuquerque will look forward to meeting this healthy zoo baby this spring. Add to your knowledge of this wonderful creature.
