- Examine your own endurance.

- Avoid cotton apparel.
- Carry lots of fluids, food, and high-energy snacks.
- Layer your clothing: 1. wicking 2. thermal and 3. waterproof layers
- Use fabrics that retain heat--even if wet.
- Bring Basic Equipment: knife, lighter, flashlight.
- Take a cell phone. Keep
- It warm near your body.
- Plan a departure/return time
- Stick to those times and share this info with a friend in advance.
