An Open Letter
10 February 2004

Welcome to the NEW Knolls of Paradise Hills and the challenge of bringing individual homeowners with varied talents into meaningful communication and cooperation as we develop our fledgling community.

Because our homes are unique and are nestled in an area with natural beauty and because their values can grow with TLC, it is necessary to unite and to promote our joint aims. Minimally, this means that each of us must do his share to create a safe, clean, healthy environment for our families to grow and to prosper.

Chip Muenze provided straight talk in the March 2004 issue of Knoll News. He spoke of the devastating results of apathy. We can see the results as developers or just neighbors fail to treat others with respect and take the easy way out of responsibilities. You observe it in dumping on others properties, home litter, creation of eyesores, and a trend to "let someone else do it".

Chip held a meeting on Saturday, March 27 at 9840 Cameron NW as a third attempt in forming a Neighborhood Association. The direction of this goal has not been determined.

Chip also made a written request to Mayor Martin Chavez that the Knolls be considered as a pilot project in a clean-up program which would partner neighborhood groups with city agencies to focus attention on litter problems. The April 1, 2004 Tribune headline cited the Mayor's focus: "Mayor targets a spotless city". The article stated: "Albuquerque is blighted by litter.... 'That ends today,' he said, announcing the start of what he called 'the largest anti-litter campaign in the history of Albuquerque.' "

Resident communication, growing friendships, and parterships between people to promote the solutions to common problems seem to be key needs. Hence, this website invites you as a friend of the community to open communication lines between us. This website can be used as a convenient vehicle to inform you, to allow you to speak of your observations and ideas for meaningful, positive actions, and to link arms as volunteers to promote this potentially breath-taking spot which is nestled between Coors and Golf Course--just north of Paradise.
